Tango music permeated my childhood as I grew up in my grandmother’s house. Her brother was rumoured to dance an excellent European tango. On Sundays, he would frequently visit us and there was often dancing after lunch. I was mesmerised by the dancing embrace. He informed me that what I saw paled in grace and beauty compared to what he called the marvel of Argentine tango. Many years later after moving to Edinburgh, I discovered this marvel for myself and through it the embrace of the Edinburgh tango community.
